San Diego is the second largest city in California and the eighth largest city in the United States. It is often overshadowed by neighboring Los Angeles, but the burgeoning arts and food scenes have put this once quiet city on the map. Some hotspots for tourism include SeaWorld San Diego and the globally renowned San Diego Zoo. The zoo has one of the most diverse collections of animals in the world, and is one of the few to have Giant Pandas in captivity. The city has one of the most attractive climates in the country as days rarely exceed 90 degrees but seldom fall below 60. This is perfect as San Diego is home to large expanses of beach front. Surfers from around the globe come to the city for its “gnarly” waves. Some of the nation’s top universities are located in this city, most notably the University of California – San Diego, which has been ranked as high as the 35th best in the United States. Homes in San Diego, California have seen significant growth in value over the past decade as the city has seen significant population growth as well. Rental homes in San Diego currently account for about half of all residencies in the city.
